Patient Service Coordinator
Pride Health is hiring a Patient Service Coordinator for one of its healthcare clients in New London, Connecticut.
This is a 3-month contract with a possibility of extension with competitive pay and benefits.
Length of Assignment – 3 Months (Contract with a possibility of extension)
Location – New London, CT (06320)
Pay range - $18 - $20 an hour
Shift – Monday-Friday hours range anywhere from 7:45 am-5:15 pm. Our two shifts are 7:45 am-4:15 pm and 8:45 am-5:15 pm.
Job Summary
The Patient Service Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for patients seeking services at the New London Primary Care office. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to provide a high level of customer service, manage patient inquiries, and assist with the efficient operation of the clinic. The coordinator will work closely with medical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and assist with appointment scheduling, patient registration, and various administrative tasks.
Job Duties
- Patient Interaction: Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using the Epic system, ensuring accurate and timely bookings.
- Patient Registration: Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history, ensuring accuracy in the system.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance and update records as necessary, working with the billing department when needed.
- Administrative Support: Perform general office duties including filing, faxing, and scanning documents, while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Customer Service: Address patient inquiries, resolve concerns, and provide information regarding services, procedures, and office policies.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.
- Epic System: Use Epic for various administrative tasks including scheduling, patient registration, and updating patient records.
- Other Duties: Support other administrative tasks as needed to contribute to the efficient operation of the medical office.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience:
- EPIC experience is required.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, especially in a primary care office, is highly preferred.
- Previous experience using the Epic electronic health record system is preferred.
- Prior customer service experience in a healthcare or medical office setting is desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
